Your Donations Provide Opportunities for Deserving Children

Last year 6 young people were provided scholarships to Blackwood Nature Camp.  We have seen the powerful impact that Blackwood Nature Camp has had on these children in their homes and in their community.  Due to the positive experience from last summer, we will be doubling the number of scholarships.  In addition, we have created a training program inviting an additional 6 young people to participate. The purpose of this training is help them build a resume’ that will support them in future employment and to help them fund their education. We have raised $3000 thus far, but an additional $7200 would allow us to provide scholarships to 12 children who demonstrate a legitimate need.  It would be greatly appreciated if you could assist us in this effort.  

Any gift, great or small, will be used both honorably and efficiently.

Camp Champion - Donate $600.00

This is a sponsor whose generosity enables a deserving child (or children) to come to Blackwood Nature Camp and foster a connection to the outdoors. They understand how critical it is for children to be engaged in nature activities, and they have the ability and drive to bring this engagement to fruition.

Noble Naturalist - Donate $400.00   

* Sponsor a project (crafts – mobile-making, masks, journals, painting, drums, etc.)
Learning by doing is such an important part of the experience for our youngsters. Part of what makes the camp experience sing is involvement in hands-on activities such as journaling, making walnut ink, making paper, and pottery. As an activity sponsor, you help enrich the lives of our participants by bringing these activities alive.

Field Guide - Donate $300.00   

* Sponsor an activity (trip to fish farm, Audubon visit, etc.)
Part of what we do during camp sessions is take our campers into the field to see conservation in action. This sponsorship opportunity is ideal for the person who wants to help but does not have the time to volunteer. Giving our campers a chance to see the world in action is the next-best thing to being there.

Food Fairie - Donate $3,000.00   

* Sponsor the kitchen/feed the campers
We have the honor and responsibility of feeding 25 active children who have worked up an appetite in the great outdoors. Your generosity will help us nourish their bodies as we nourish their souls.

*General donations - any amount makes a contribution to a child that will always be remembered.
