Open Farm Day at Blackwood Skyfarm

Every Wednesday evening, the Blackwood Skyfarm opens its rows to the public for an hour of hands-on learning high above downtown Houston. Perched on the rooftop at POST Houston, this working farm turns the middle of the city into a living classroom where seasonal planting, soil health, and sustainability come to life. Whether you are a lifelong gardener or simply curious about where your food comes from, there is a place for you in the beds.

Each Open Farm Day follows what the season is asking for, so no two visits look quite the same. You might help transplant seedlings, learn how the Skyfarm manages water and compost in a rooftop environment, or walk the rows and ask our team the questions you have always wondered about. The lessons are practical and the pace is relaxed, and everything you learn is something you can carry back to your own garden, balcony, or windowsill.

Open Farm Days are free and welcoming to all ages, which makes them an easy first step into the Blackwood community. Come for the plants, stay for the people, and leave with a deeper sense of how a city and its food can grow together. We hope to see you at the Skyfarm.
